As an average of all the accidents and safety incidents on the machines, conveyors cause about one/third of the injuries in food and beverage industry. Why is it that such a simple equipment causes so much issues?
Most of the accidents on the conveyors, up to 90% of the injuries involve well known hazards such as in-running nips, Injury because of transmission parts and trapping points between moving and fixed parts and so on. When the guarding and machine safety is highly regulated and critical, why does so many accidents happen on these simple machines / conveyors.
