In Australia, there are clear requirements in regard to pre-packed articles. Information on that topic can be found at http://www.measurement.gov.au/TradeMeas ... Goods.aspx
I am presuming that (as would normally be the case) this type of automatic instrument (filling machine) would be for filling containers to a predetermined nominal weight or volume content (e.g. 0.5 kg or 1 L etc). The resulting packages would be subject to the pre-packed article requirements and the filling machine is not required to be pattern approved (or verified) for trade use. so, no time based calibration requirements apply.
If the Filling machine packed random-weight articles (e.g. printed the weight of each container and applied it to the article, weigh-price machine), then the situation may be different, However, I think this is an unlikely situation in your case.
Note: This type of filling machine you have mentioned would fall into the category of a 'Gravimetric Filling Machine'. Although pattern approval and verification of such instruments is not required in Australia, there is an International Recommendation OIML R 61 (see www.oiml.org
) which may be of interest to you.
