Convenience Packaging, Is it helping or more QA challenges

Postby greyhair » Sat Sep 06, 2014 1:30 pm

Convenience packaging is a great market pull factor and in many cases it helps a lot to so many people.

With the fast adoption of convenience packaging, are we compromising the shelf life, product integrity or increasing the chances of pilferage?

Everything has its pros & cons.

The advantages like single serves, small portions, easy tear, zipper bags, ready meals in trays have made the life so convenient & easy for all of us.

Quality assurance challenges are associated with each and every food product, one should only think of improving the convenience and worthiness of their products, any associated issues should be handled head-on.

Questioning the sanctity of convenience packaging is futile.

One of the major benefits of convenience packaging is easy and fast usage of food, reducing the requirement of the longer shelf life for the food products.

Still, having a substantial improvement in shelf life is always desirable..

The below article on Shelf life should be beneficial to everyone in the food chain from producer to consumer :)
